Glendale is the City of Los Angeles County and has a varied history, it was like a desert in 1882 but William Murphy along with three builders, M.W. Kales, William A. Hancock and Clark Churchill lead the Arizona Canal Co. project. The project was meant to bring water to Glendale and the project was completed in May 1885. People started settling along the canal; William H. Bartlett was the early settlers which are now known as central Glendale.
During the beginning of nineteenth century many of the families started settling in Glendale. It emerged as one of the most culturally divers cities of the valley. In 1912, Glendale published its very first newspaper. The first school of the Glendale was opened in April 1949 and was known as Cardiff West Public School.
The beginning of the nineteenth century brought success and stability to the economy of the Glendale.
According to the 2000 census, the population of the city was 194,973 and it is estimated that is around 207,303 in 2009.
